I remember your heartbeat at 2 a.m. running scared.
I remember waking up, I remember holding hands, falling back asleep,
waiting for daylight. There was a dream, you see, a dream of us
some place else, a dream of us not waking up. I remember your face
staring at me in the dark, feeling afraid of what we couldn't run
away from anymore. Things I couldn't share with anyone else, things
you couldn't understand. I remember your heartbeat at 2 a.m. telling
me you loved me, pressed against mine. There was only darkness around
us but somehow electricity gave us hope.
